I am super excited about everything that is going on in my life right now, but this will be one of the busiest times of my life. It will also be one of the BEST!
I am currently in my Bachelor's Degree program in Elementary Education. I just graduated with my Associates Degree, which was super exciting, since I am the first person on either side of my family to graduate from college with a degree!
Well, my Bachelor's Degree program is in full swing, which means I am super busy. Not only do I have school work, but I also have to go take the Praxis I exam, get a TB skin test (which I had done today, but do not get my results 'til Monday), get fingerprinted, and start classroom observations. Whew!
It is extremely hard work, but I know it will all pay off in the long run when I am teaching my own class of students. I have always loved children, and I enjoy helping them achieve their goals and dreams. It will be a great pleasure of mine when I can teach and watch students learn, grow, develop, and excel!
So, not only am I going to school, but I am actively looking for work, exercising, and trying to plan a vacation, which is needed and well-deserved. I am still trying to find a job while in school because my education is not paying for itself, yet!
On the note about exercising, I am trying to get back in my groove, so that I can start losing weight again. I really want to get down to my goal weight by Thanksgiving or Christmas. I know it is much harder to lose weight in the winter because many times our lives become sedentary, so I want to lose weight before full winter kicks in.
And, I need a vacation. At least a mini-vacay. After going to school for so long and accomplishing what I have so far, I believe a vacation is well-deserved and hopefully, in the near future. I would like to go to the beach for a weekend. But, with everything else that I am doing, it is hard to look up hotels and plan a trip.
Hopefully, I can accomplish this one task for myself though!
So, I am in love with the Xbox 360 w/ Kinect. I have been wanting it or the Wii, and a couple of days ago, I finally decided to get one for myself as a graduation present to myself! :) It has been a great investment already.
It came with the Kinect Adventures game, which is extremely fun. My brother and I like to battle to see who can get a higher score on the different adventures and levels. Well, after playing it the first night I got it, the next day both of our legs were extremely sore. Then, I played it again. After that, my legs and arms are extremely sore.
I decided to step on the scale to see how this was paying off in weight loss, and I have lost 2 lbs in 2 days. AMAZING! I could not be happier about losing weight by playing games and enjoying time with my family. It has been a great experience, so far, and I hope that it will continue to be tremendous.
I plan to play the games and do the exercise games at least 5 days a week, and hopefully, this will aid my weight loss.
Why is it when we have so much to do, we spend more time goofing off and not getting the work done? Well, that is how I am, anyways. :) I have a billion and a half things to do, it seems, but here I am writing a blog about it, instead of actually trying to accomplish the tasks on my to-do lists. Notice I said lists? Yea, there is more than one. I have one for every kind of task. So, I have one for cleaning, one for yard work, one for school, another for my commencement and graduation party, and yet another for trying to find a job. Ha ha ha! It seems the work will never be done, but I am trying, even though it does not seem like it sometimes.
So, this week I have to clean the house, wash clothes, go shopping for a dress for commencement, do homework, and pack Thursday night or Friday morning. My commencement is on Saturday, YAY! I am so excited. We are heading out of town Friday night to get a hotel where my commencement will be, since I have to be there at 9 AM Saturday, and it is a couple hours from where I live. I also need to fill out invitations and hand them out for my graduation party, which will be on July 23rd. So, I have a busy, busy week ahead, especially since that is not all that needs to be done this week. :)
I am such a procrastinator, but I do get my work done, which is what I am going to do now! Hopefully it will be a good week, and maybe I can even get some exercise in, so that I can lose another pound or two before my commencement! :)
Well, I started working on June 30th, and as of today, I am no longer employed. Guess it was not God's will or mine to have a job just yet, or not that job anyway. I knew I would not be there long, that it was only going to be temporary, but I did not believe it would only last a week and a day. Ha ha ha! I am happy that I can laugh about this, though. Yes, I do need the money, but I do not need the stress or the constant demand to be perfect, because I, of all people, am not perfect, nor have I ever claimed to be.
While I am not working, I will now have time to start working out again! This excites me because I truly want to lose some more weight and become happy & healthy!
Hopefully I can find another job, but I only want part-time work, so that I can still exercise and complete my school work! I just want to do God's will and follow His path for my life, and hopefully, I will be able to do that.
Thank you to all the military men and women that serve our country so that we can have FREEDOM, and thank you to our LORD for giving us salvation.
I hope everyone enjoys this 4th of July, has a great day, and is safe.
